We are pleased to announce the results of the second round of Creative FLIP’s Peer-to-peer program. This round will include 30 exchanges as, according to the evaluation procedure, 30 applications met the required criteria. The P2P program is aiming at exchanging best practices, linking creative hubs and the educational sector, co-creating projects and collaborative plans between the participants.

On 5-6 February 2020, the Creative FLIP IP team from the Intellectual Property Institute Luxembourg (IPIL) visited Ljubljana, Slovenia and held an IP Thinkshop and IP Clinic targeted at interested creatives from the city and its vicinity.

On 28-29 January 2020 the CCS Ecosystems: FLIPPING THE ODDS Conference took place at LaVallée creative hub in Brussels. Gathering close to 250 CCS Stakeholders from across Europe, the two-day high-level event was organised jointly by the Creative FLIP project and the European Commission, Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture.

Creative FLIP seeks to create an innovative environment benefiting from cross-sectoral collaboration. Within that context we foster long-lasting cooperation and relationships between the CCS and the educational system through joint projects between schools/Universities/various types of non-formal educational institutions and Creative Hubs. For over one month, the CreativesUnite platform has been showcasing CCI initiatives from Europe and beyond as a response to the Covid-crisis that hit the sector so badly. Following a virtual meeting of EU Ministers of Culture held on 19 May 2020, Commissioner Gabriel proposed an online conference with the cultural and creative sectors, where the Commissioner herself and key EU policy-makers would meet CCS stakeholders to reflect on what has been done until now in response to the crisis and to plan together for a new future.

Over the course of one month, the Cultural and Creative Sector has contributed with imagination, creativity, optimism, research and numerous initiatives to fill the CreativesUnite - Covid-19 Resource Platform - with content and guidance in times of crisis.

The COVID-19 pandemic has swept the globe, causing a serious health crisis that not only has cost the livelihood of millions, but also has a severe impact on the sustainability of many sectors of the economy, and especially the Cultural and Creative Industries all around Europe.
Despite the disruption to everyday life, creatives remained creative and many hopeful initiatives arose out of this situation. The technological possibilities combined with the conducive nature of the sector have both contributed to the spread of information but also prevented a more complete and cohesive action.
