Creative FLIP launches www.CreativesUnite.eu
the Artists and Creatives Community Covid-19 Resource Platform
The COVID-19 pandemic has swept the globe, causing a serious health crisis that not only has cost the livelihood of millions, but also has a severe impact on the sustainability of many sectors of the economy, and especially the Cultural and Creative Industries all around Europe.
Despite the disruption to everyday life, creatives remained creative and many hopeful initiatives arose out of this situation. The technological possibilities combined with the conducive nature of the sector have both contributed to the spread of information but also prevented a more complete and cohesive action.
An urgent need arose to gather all information on CCI response to the Covid-19 crisis and make it more structured and accessible to the entire sector.
This was emphasized on 8 April 2020 by Commissioner Mariya Gabriel, following a virtual meeting of EU Ministers of Culture held regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. She proposed the launching of a platform for the cultural sector to share information and good practices between themselves. This is how the idea of Creatives Unite was born.
Creatives Unite is a platform that aims to gather in one place all information and initiatives of the CCI sector in the EU that arose in response to the COVID-19 crisis. The goal is to bridge the information gap by collating all relevant information circulating on the web regarding creative opportunities coming from and referring to the CCIs, by directing to the relevant websites of the respective networks, organisations and initiatives. Further, the platform offers the opportunity to co-create and share solutions.
We invite you to visit and browse the platform, to share the news with your networks and, most importantly, to contribute with your inputs!
The Creatives Unite platform is operated by the European Creative Hubs Network and the Goethe-Institut as part of the Creative FLIP project.
